About the Teacher

Megan Bailey has played the violin more than 25 years, and the piano for 30 years. She has studied under the world-renowned talents of Norma Davidson and Jose Cueto.  As a student at St. Mary's College of Maryland, she retained the title of Concert Mistress during her schooling.  She has performed in Carnegie Hall, and has also performed throughout Austria and Germany. She has performed within the Fort Worth Symphony system, and also with the Chesapeake Ensemble and the Prince Georges Symphony in Maryland.

Ms. Bailey is a member of the Charlottesville Music Teachers Association, and has been teaching students of all ages for several years.  Under her training, students learn to hear harmony in relation to the melody.  Young or old, beginner or advanced, Ms. Bailey guides and encourages students to enjoy the instrument they are playing.  Her philosophy is to make music fun, which in turn inspires a love of music in students of all ages.  Thanks to her dedication to teaching, students find fulfillment in their own musical endeavors.
